JOB COST

The Centurion Business Computers Job Cost Application is a complete system, which helps you keep an eye on your profit margin. It provides you with timely, detailed reports of profitability based on contract price, unit price, estimated cost, actual cost, estimated completion based on actual cost incurred to date, over or under the budget calculations, cash flow or cash deficits from the job, and the billing to date.

The Centurion Job Cost System interfaces to several other accounting packages with one point of entry. The advantage to this is that, it not only saves time, it decreases the possibility of human error. When interfacing the software packages, you will meet all your business needs. Each package may also be used independent of one another.

The Centurion Accounts Receivable package is updated when you bill a customer or enter a payment from a customer. It also updates the job for that customer as well as updating the customer ledger in Accounts Receivable. At the same point of entry, you may send a journal entry to the General Ledger recording the sale, receivable or payment received. You can print a customer aging analysis to reflect retainage and receivables.

When processing Sub-Contractor information, you may have one point of entry in the Accounts Payable package, which will update any cost to the Job Cost system, create a journal entry to the General Ledger, update the Sub-Contractor system, and update the Accounts Payable vendor records. You may record invoices and/or manual checks to a Sub-Contractor for completed and stored, retainage handling, workers compensation pay, any charge backs to the Sub-Contractor and maintained earned to date information at various levels of detail.

The Centurion Contractors Job Cost package interfaces to an Inventory package. This gives you the ability to maintain an inventory by job. The Inventory is updated automatically by the receipt of a purchase order and/or the payment of an inventory invoice. Product codes are used in the Job Cost section for estimating material and recording actual cost of material used on the jobs.

The Centurion Payroll system is an application that is of great advantage for Job Cost users. There is one point of entry for employee’s time, by job, department and trade. The hours worked and the pay rate of employees by job is sent to the job as actual labor cost. The time entered for employees who worked on Government jobs that may have different pay rates than their standard rate can also be handled and reported (Certified Payroll). Paychecks may be printed, quarterly reporting, W2 printing, and various standard payroll reporting is available. The Centurion Payroll package includes workers compensation calculations and reporting. When updating a Payroll, the system will update employee records, job cost, equipment costs, workers compensation calculated, and create a journal entry to the General Ledger.
